Kia India on Thursday launched the range-topping ‘X-Line’ trim of its smart urban compact SUV Kia Sonet in the Indian market. Adding to the sporty and youthful appeal of the Sonet badge, the Sonet X-Line trim has been introduced in ‘Exclusive Matte Graphite Exterior Colour’, which adds to the overall premium look of the car. The X Line variant has been launched in India at an initial ex-showroom price of Rs 13.39 lakh. At the same time, the ex-showroom price of its second variant starts from Rs 13.99 lakh. The Kia Sonet X Line SUV is a higher model than the current Sonet GTX+ from Kia.

The company expects the Sonet X-Line to further accelerate the sales of the sub-compact SUV Sonet, which has sales of over 1.5 lakh units and accounts for about 15 per cent of the compact SUV segment. With the X-Line, Kia has showcased its designing prowess by offering a stylish and distinct product.

What is Different ?

With its exclusive Splendid Sage Dual Tone interior with Black High Gloss (R16 – 40.64 cm (16″) and exclusive crystal cut alloy wheels, the Sonet X-Line claims that the overall cabin and driving experience is better than ever. Special Typically, the 1.0 T-GDi petrol engine is offered with the 7DCT configuration and the 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine with the 6AT configuration.

Kia Sonet X-Line SUV – Engine Specifications:

For the powertrain, the Sonet has been given a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Its 1.0-litre petrol engine generates 118bhp power and 172Nm torque. At the same time, the 1.5 liter diesel can generate 113bhp power and 250Nm peak torque. For transmission, the petrol engine option is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox, while the diesel is mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Kia Sonet X-Line SUV – Exterior:

On the exterior design, Kia’s Sonet X-Line gets new graphite paint, making it the first sub-four meter SUV in the segment to get a matte finish. In addition, the grille gets gloss black paint with a pointed pattern and piano black finish with dark metal accents on the skid plates. As for the design, it gets 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, tiger nose grille, front and rear skid plates along with ORVMs. The new Sonet also gets dark hyper metal accents, silver brake calipers, matte finish for the shark-fin antenna.

Talking about other upgrades over the Kia Sonet GTX+, the Sonet X-Line gets turbo-shaped masculine piano black front skid plates with dark hyper metal accents, dark chrome fog lamp garnish, outside mirrors with LED turn signals, and side doors. Metal garnish accents, silver brake callipers, shark fin antenna in matte graphite and piano black dual muffler design. The SUV also gets an X-Line emblem.

Kia Sonet X-Line SUV – Interior:

On the inside, the 2022 Kia Sonet X-Line sees a dual-tone color scheme with orange stitching. It gets the X-Line logo, a leather flat-bottom steering wheel with orange stitching and a black headliner along with the Sonnet logo. The features list also includes features like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Highline tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, cruise control and auto climate.
